Directions & Map

• From Points South (NYC, most of Connecticut, NJ, etc.):
     Via RI Rt. 102: [[[AAA recommended]]] In Rhode Island use Exit 5A off Rt. 95 to Rt. 102 South ... to Rt. 4 South ... then to Rt.1 South ... then to Rt. 138 East to Jamestown / Newport Bridges.
     Via Rt. 1 N: [[[Avoid traveling at beach traffic times]]] In Connecticut use Exit 92 off Rt. 95 ... to Rt. 2 East ... to Rt. 78 East [To RI Beaches] and follow signs to Rt. 1 North through Charlestown and Wakefield to Rt. 138 East to Newport/Jamestown Bridges.
     Via RI Rt. 138: [[[Please note that Rt. 138 from Exit 3A to Rt. 1 is no longer a recommended route. While it is probably shorter it can be very slow on local roads ... and very difficult on dark rainy nights.]]] In Rhode Island use Exit 3A off Rt. 95 to Rt. 138 East ... then Rt. 1 North/RT 138 East ... then Rt. 138 East to Jamestown / Newport Bridges.
  
      Take the first exit off the Newport Bridge (Scenic Newport) and take a right at the end of the exit ramp onto Farewell Street.
      Pick up top map in upper left-hand corner and follow the green path. [[[If traffic is backed up at the first exit off the Newport Bridge go to the second and last exit off the bridge (Admiral Kalbfus Rd. Rt. 138 East [left at Hi Li] ... and then turn right at the second light at the Sunoco gas station on Broadway) and pick up top map in upper right and follow the blue path down Broadway.]]]
  
  
• From Points North (Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire):
      Take Interstate 93 South out of Boston to Route 24 South. Around Fall River, MA follow Route 24 South (Fall River/Newport signs) to Route 114 South. This four-lane road is called West Main Road through the towns of Portsmouth and Middletown and once in Newport becomes a two-lane road called Broadway.
      Once on Broadway, the Newport Hospital is on the left, followed by the Police Station on the right. At Newport City Hall [just about at the end of Broadway], pick up the top map in upper right hand corner and follow the blue path.
  
  
• From Providence:
      Take Rt.195 east to Fall River, then Rt.24 south which eventually becomes Rt.114, and finally becomes Broadway in Newport and the blue path. Many people prefer to take Rt.95 south to Rt.4 south, then to Rt.1 south , then to Rt. 138 east onto the green path. The selection often depends on traffic conditions.
